In Toronto, Caldeira signs an agreement with the PYCAP incubator and accelerates the Brazil-Canada connection

With more than BRL 20 million in assets under management, 192 members, and 12 equity companies in the portfolio, the Canadian incubator PYCAP is the new partner of Instituto Caldeira. The Memorandum of Intent (MOU) was signed on Monday night (27th) in Toronto by the CEO of Instituto Caldeira, Pedro Valério, and by the CEO of the Canadian institution, Stuart Browne.

"This partnership brings significant advantages, mainly for Brazilian startups and for the Canadian economy. Through this collaboration, Brazilian startups gain access to funding opportunities and connections in the Canadian market, facilitating their growth and expansion. In addition, we will exchange knowledge, share industry insights, and generate networking opportunities with potential customers, partners, and mentors," highlights Browne.

Caldeira's CEO points out that the partnership is yet another important move towards consolidating Instituto Caldeira as a global hub and that it will bring practical results to our community.

"We will work to attract Canadian startups to our open innovation challenges and, at the same time, give access to Brazil so that they can also carry out initiatives in synergy," reinforces Valério.

For Rafael Krug, founder and CEO of Zero Defect, a startup member of the innovation hub that integrates the mission to Canada, the agreement expands business possibilities in an unprecedented way that the Caldeira ecosystem will generate.

"Canada is one of the most promising nations to receive technology companies from all over the world. Caldeira's approach to technology incubators in Canada will further expand the possibilities for companies to internationalize."

PYCAP was one of the destinations of the mission that the directors and the Caldeira community are doing in Canada this week. The incubator has a lot of relevance for combining experience in risk investments, entrepreneurship, and academia to provide a differentiated program for startups. It is registered with the Federal Government of Canada as a Designated Organization for the Startup Visa Program (SUV), which facilitates foreign entrepreneurs, their business partners, and families to immigrate to Canada.

From this subscription, practical actions will take place based on 3 pillars: discount and easy access to the PYCAP incubation program, content production, and the presence of Stuart Browne as a mentor for Caldeira startups.
